New material hose

Sames Kremlin has developed a new low-pressure material hoses. It offer customers unique advantages due to their very low weight and flexibility. According to the manufacturer it is particularly flexible and the lightest hose of its kind currently on the market.

ISO standardization for blasting systems

DIN is coordinating the working group ISO/TC306/WG4 for an ISO standard on shot blasting machinery. The working group consists of experts from China, Denmark, Germany, Japan and Switzerland. The first meeting will take place on May 30/31 in Milan, Italy. The ISO/TC306/WG4 secretary, Dr. Martin Riester of VDMA states „The draft international standard shall be finalized until January 2021. The goal is to define an international valid reference for safe and environmental friendly design and construction of shot blasting machinery“. Once published, the ISO standard will replace national and European standards for machinery safety of shot blasting machinery.

New coating and filter plant

The Palmberg Büroeinrichtungen + Service GmbH has invested in a modern extraction and filter system and a coating area for the production of high-quality office furniture equipment at the newly built plant in Rehna, which meets the highest environmental protection, explosion protection and quality standards. The varnishing area is divided into a preparation area, a varnishing area and a drying area. The ventilation technology is equipped with high-quality filtering and a heat recovery system. The externally installed vacuum filter system has been designed for maximum efficiency and meets the latest standards in terms of environmental and explosion protection.

Apollo now part of Freudenberg

The Freudenberg Filtration Technologies Business Group has acquired a majority in Apollo Air-cleaner Co., Ltd.. The purchase agreement was signed in December 2018. The company is a leading provider of air and water filtration solutions in China. In 2017, Apollo generated sales of approximately 96 Mio. Euro with approximately 1,000 employees. It is now run as a joint venture between Freudenberg as the main shareholder (75 percent) and the former sole owner Apollo Trading Group (25 percent), Japan, and bears the name Freudenberg Apollo Filtration Technologies. Freudenberg Filtration Technologies will contribute its existing business with applications for room air filtration to the joint venture.

New spray gun holder

The Spanish manufacturer Kripxe has recently developed a new spray gun holder. It is able to hold the hopper gun while filling, thereby helping to contain messes. The device has a size of 75 x 35 x 35 cm and a weight of 7 kg.

Materials performance corrosion innovation of the year award

Autonomic Materials (AMI) announced today that its self-healing technology was awarded the prestigious Materials Performance Corrosion Innovation of the Year Award for coatings and linings at the 2019 National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) conference. This distinguished award is presented only once every two years at the world’s largest event focused on the prevention and mitigation of corrosion. AMI’s technology was selected by a panel of corrosion-control experts based on the potential for a significant positive impact in corrosion control.
