Farmtech opens new paint shop
The new paint shop is built in accordance with European standards and is not only highly efficient, but also environmentally friendly and safe to work with. It is intended solely for Farmtech d.o.o.’s own needs. The total area of the new paint shop, which was built within nine months, is 2,077 square meters. The commissioning will increase the company’s productivity enormously, increase efficiency and quality, improve the degree of automation and process safety, and increase ergonomics and occupational safety. The existing paint shop in Farmtech’s old factory, which has become too small and outdated, will be closed.
The project was entirely financed with the group’s own funds. The technical director of the Komptech Group, Christian Oberwinkler, says: “With this investment, Farmtech, as part of the Komptech and Hirtenberger Groups, is underlining its long-term strategy and consistently investing in the future and in the Ljutomer site. On the one hand this is important for competitiveness and on the other hand it will also create new jobs in the region”. The investment will enable the company to systematically pursue and further expand its long-term growth strategy. “With the current investment program, we naturally want to strengthen the strong market position and good reputation of our brands, increase sales and thus secure the jobs of our employees,” emphasizes Oberwinkler. “The new paint shop will significantly increase production capacity, which now amounts to 300,000 square meters of paintable area per year. This will enable us to meet the increased demand for Farmtech and Komptech products.” This investment, however, is only part of a comprehensive future package for the site. Farmtech will continue to invest in modernising both plants in Ljutomer. This year, the company has already hired around 80 new employees. In total, the two plants currently employ more than 360 people.
