New company brings AI to industrial coating applicators
Based Switzerland, the coatingAI team uses advanced computer vision and machine learning technologies to ensure stable processes and coating quality, but also to reduce costs and environmental impact. The use of coatingAI eliminates all ambiguities in determining the optimal machine parameters. At the same time, changes in environmental conditions are automatically compensated for and stable coating quality is ensured regardless of who is operating the equipment.
Machine learning technologies should significantly reduce powder consumption, production waste and labour intensity. Following an intensive research and development programme, the first coatingAI prototype was tested in January and analysis of the training data is currently underway, with field trials scheduled to begin at the end of the year. The global launch of the final product is expected in mid-2022.
Strategic alliances to come
Marlon Boldrini, co-founder of coatingAI, said, „We are very excited to have taken this important step in our journey to revolutionise the coating world. Our solution, with its blend of advanced 3D computer vision and true machine learning, will not only drive improved business performance, but also ensure greater sustainability in the coatings industry.“ And co-founder Malcolm Werchota added: „While we celebrate this moment and thank all those who worked so hard to make it possible, we remain focused on our rigorous programme. In the coming months, we will continue to seek strategic alliances and collaborations to achieve the widest possible distribution of our breakthrough solution.“
